What this agreement is
The Binding Acceptance Agreement is generated when a traveler accepts a sender's request on LuggageTribe. It records the parties, route, item, weight, escrow amounts, and the rules both members already agreed to by using the platform.
It is a contemporaneous record of that accepted shipment. It does not replace local customs, aviation, or highway rules, and it does not make LuggageTribe a carrier, freight forwarder, or employer of either member.
1. Parties, trip, and shipment
Each PDF names the sender and traveler, the journey leg, the item description, and the stored weight.
Weight is stored in kilograms. If the traveler listed capacity in pounds, the platform converts for display and for the request, but payout math is always: stored kilograms × the journey's stored USD-per-kilogram rate. The sender then pays that luggage price plus the platform fee (and optional insurance).
2. Payment and escrow
- The sender pays the luggage price plus the platform fee through LuggageTribe.
- The traveler receives the full luggage price after confirmed delivery — the platform fee is not taken from the traveler.
- Funds stay in escrow until the sender confirms delivery (or the dispute process in the Refund Policy applies).
- Cash, off-app transfers, or “pay me later” outside LuggageTribe is not allowed and can void platform protections.

3. Duties of each member
Sender: describe contents honestly; pack for the journey; bring the same item shown in photos; be on time for pickup and delivery; do not add undeclared packages or ask the traveler to skip inspection.
Traveler: carry only the accepted item on the listed route and dates; inspect at pickup; refuse anything unsafe, illegal, or misdescribed; keep the item reasonably secure; complete in-app pickup and delivery photos.
Attachment A — Prohibited & restricted items
LuggageTribe is a community marketplace, not a courier that will move anything. Senders must not request transport of illegal or dangerous goods. Travelers must refuse them at pickup.
Never allowed: illegal drugs, firearms and ammunition, explosives, weapons, stolen or counterfeit goods, live animals, human remains, and flammable, corrosive, or radioactive materials that cannot legally travel on the chosen transport.
Restricted — disclose and check first: lithium batteries, prescription medicines, cash and valuables, perishables, alcohol and tobacco, knives or blades, and anything that may leak, spoil, or need special handling. Carrier, airline, and local law still apply even if LuggageTribe would otherwise allow it.

Attachment B — Pickup inspection
Pickup is the last chance to confirm the package is the one that was accepted. Travelers should not mark a package received until they have checked it in person.
At pickup the traveler should confirm:
- the package can be inspected (not sealed to hide contents);
- photos, description, approximate weight, size, and quantity match the request;
- there is no leak, strong chemical odor, damage that makes transport unsafe, or extra undeclared parcel;
- in-app pickup photos are taken at the handoff when the app asks for them.
If anything does not match, refuse pickup in the app and report it. Do not accept “just this once,” extra cash, or a substituted bag. Meeting in a public place and sharing location with someone you trust is recommended.
Attachment C — Acknowledgement
By tapping Accept on LuggageTribe, both members acknowledge this agreement (and the emailed PDF) as a record of that shipment. Using the platform also means you agree to the Terms of Service, Refund Policy, Privacy Policy, and Trust & Safety policy.
