At LuggageTribe, trust and safety are fundamental to how our marketplace operates.
LuggageTribe connects members who need to move eligible items with approved members who already have available capacity on compatible Journeys.
Because members may interact in person, transport property belonging to others, and travel using their own vehicles or other eligible transportation methods, everyone using LuggageTribe has a responsibility to help keep the marketplace safe.
This Safety, Trust & Prohibited Items Policy explains:
- who may transport items;
- what may and may not be transported;
- what members must disclose;
- expectations for packaging and handoffs;
- how members should respond to suspicious situations;
- safety expectations during transportation;
- delivery verification;
- reporting and incident procedures; and
- actions LuggageTribe may take when these rules are violated.
This Policy forms part of the rules governing use of the LuggageTribe platform and should be read together with the LuggageTribe Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. Our Safety Principles
LuggageTribe is built around five fundamental principles.
1.1 Know Who You Are Dealing With
Members who transport shipments must complete the verification requirements established by LuggageTribe and be approved to transport items.
Creating an account alone does not authorize a member to transport shipments.
1.2 Know What You Are Carrying
No member should be asked to transport an unidentified, intentionally concealed, materially misrepresented, or suspicious item.
Members requesting transportation must accurately declare the contents of their shipment.
1.3 Keep Transactions on LuggageTribe
Members should create, communicate about, accept, pay for, document, and complete transactions through LuggageTribe wherever platform functionality is provided for those activities.
Moving transactions outside LuggageTribe may eliminate important transaction records and platform protections and may violate our Terms of Service.
1.4 Safety Comes Before Completing a Transaction
No member is required to proceed with a transaction that they reasonably believe is unsafe, illegal, fraudulent, materially different from what was agreed, or contrary to this Policy.
1.5 Every Member Has a Responsibility to Protect the Community
Members should report suspected fraud, prohibited items, threatening behavior, unsafe transactions, identity misuse, or other serious violations.
LuggageTribe may investigate reports and take action to protect members and the marketplace.
2. Who May Transport Shipments?
Only members who have completed LuggageTribe's required verification process and have been approved for transportation activity may transport shipments through LuggageTribe.
An approved member may be referred to in this Policy as a Transporting Member.
Approval to transport shipments may be subject to additional requirements depending on:
- location;
- transportation method;
- account history;
- shipment category;
- applicable law;
- marketplace risk;
- verification status; or
- other safety considerations.
LuggageTribe may introduce additional levels of verification over time.
3. Verification
Verification is designed to help reduce identity fraud and increase accountability within the marketplace.
Depending on the services being used, LuggageTribe or its verification providers may request information such as:
- legal name;
- email address;
- telephone number;
- date of birth;
- government-issued identification;
- photograph or selfie;
- address or location information;
- payment or payout information;
- account information; and
- other information reasonably necessary to verify identity or eligibility.
LuggageTribe may also evaluate information associated with account integrity and suspected fraud.
4. Verification Is Not a Guarantee
A verification badge, approved status, identity check, rating, review, or other trust signal does not guarantee that a person:
- will act appropriately;
- will complete a transaction;
- will drive safely;
- has a particular character;
- has appropriate insurance;
- has no criminal history;
- will comply with every law;
- will properly care for an item; or
- will never engage in misconduct.
Members must continue to exercise reasonable judgment when using LuggageTribe.
5. Accurate Profiles
Members must provide truthful information.
You may not:
- impersonate another person;
- use another person's identification;
- create an account using fraudulent information;
- misrepresent your identity;
- manipulate verification processes;
- lend or sell your verified account to another person;
- allow an unapproved person to perform a Journey or Shipment transaction using your approved account; or
- create additional accounts to circumvent restrictions or suspension.
An approved member who accepts a shipment is expected to be the person responsible for the transportation unless LuggageTribe expressly supports another arrangement.
6. One Account, Multiple Marketplace Activities
LuggageTribe uses a unified member model.
A member may use the same eligible account to:
- create Journeys;
- publish available capacity;
- create Shipment Requests;
- discover available Journeys;
- request transportation;
- accept eligible Shipment Requests;
- communicate with other members;
- make payments;
- receive eligible payments; and
- manage transactions.
However, transportation functionality may remain unavailable until LuggageTribe approves the member to transport shipments.
7. Member Responsibility for Shipment Contents
The member requesting transportation is responsible for knowing what is contained in the shipment and accurately describing it.
A member must not intentionally:
- conceal shipment contents;
- provide a false description;
- substitute another item after acceptance;
- materially change the shipment without disclosure;
- misstate the weight or dimensions;
- disguise a prohibited item;
- ask a Transporting Member not to inspect obviously suspicious packaging;
- falsely describe a regulated item as an ordinary household item; or
- use another person's account to avoid LuggageTribe's restrictions.
8. Required Shipment Declaration
LuggageTribe may require members to provide some or all of the following before a shipment may be published or accepted:
- item category;
- item description;
- photographs;
- quantity;
- approximate dimensions;
- approximate weight;
- declared value;
- packaging information;
- pickup location;
- destination;
- special handling requirements; and
- confirmation that the item is not prohibited.
Members must answer such questions accurately.
9. LuggageTribe May Require Photographs
LuggageTribe may require photographs of:
- the item;
- the item before packaging;
- the packaged shipment;
- identifying labels;
- the shipment at pickup; and
- the shipment at delivery.
Photographs may be used to help:
- verify declarations;
- document condition;
- investigate disputes;
- confirm pickup;
- confirm delivery;
- detect fraud; and
- enforce this Policy.
Members should never include unnecessary sensitive personal information in shipment photographs.
10. Prohibited Items — General Rule
You may not use LuggageTribe to request, arrange, accept, facilitate, or complete transportation of any item prohibited by this Policy.
An item may be prohibited by LuggageTribe even if possession or transportation of that item might otherwise be lawful in a particular jurisdiction.
LuggageTribe may maintain stricter marketplace restrictions than applicable transportation or possession laws.
When there is uncertainty, do not transport the item until its eligibility has been confirmed through LuggageTribe.
11. Illegal Goods
The following are prohibited:
- stolen property;
- illegally obtained goods;
- contraband;
- counterfeit goods where their transportation or transaction is unlawful;
- items obtained through fraud;
- items intended to facilitate criminal activity;
- goods whose possession is unlawful; and
- any other property whose transportation would violate applicable law.
12. Illegal Drugs and Controlled Substances
LuggageTribe prohibits transportation through the marketplace of:
- illegal drugs;
- unlawfully possessed controlled substances;
- narcotics intended for unlawful distribution;
- recreational drugs prohibited under applicable law;
- illicit synthetic drugs; and
- drug-related substances whose transportation through LuggageTribe has not been expressly permitted.
Members must never agree to carry pills, powders, liquids, capsules, or other substances where the contents cannot be reasonably identified.
13. Prescription Medication
As a default marketplace rule, members should not use LuggageTribe to transport prescription medication for another person unless LuggageTribe has expressly introduced a service or category permitting that activity.
This restriction is intended to avoid uncertainty involving:
- controlled medications;
- prescriptions belonging to another person;
- storage requirements;
- temperature-sensitive medication;
- medication tampering;
- regulatory requirements; and
- chain-of-custody issues.
Over-the-counter health products may be permitted where lawful, properly packaged, accurately declared, and otherwise eligible under this Policy.
LuggageTribe may restrict particular products at its discretion.
14. Firearms
Firearms are prohibited from shipment through LuggageTribe.
This includes, without limitation:
- handguns;
- rifles;
- shotguns;
- unserialized or prohibited firearms;
- firearm receivers where regulated;
- assembled firearms; and
- other weapons classified as firearms under applicable law.
This prohibition applies regardless of whether the Requesting Member or Transporting Member is legally permitted to own or personally transport the firearm.
15. Ammunition and Explosives
The following are prohibited:
- ammunition;
- explosive devices;
- explosive compounds;
- detonators;
- blasting materials;
- grenades;
- bombs;
- fireworks;
- improvised explosive devices;
- explosive precursors intended for unlawful use; and
- similar dangerous materials.
16. Weapons
LuggageTribe may prohibit or restrict transportation of weapons including:
- tasers;
- stun guns;
- brass knuckles;
- switchblades;
- prohibited knives;
- certain martial-arts weapons;
- weapon components;
- weapon accessories associated with prohibited weapons; and
- any weapon prohibited by applicable law.
Ordinary household, kitchen, sporting, or work tools are not automatically prohibited merely because they may have sharp components, but they must be safely packaged and lawful.
LuggageTribe may reject any item that creates unreasonable safety concerns.
17. Hazardous Materials
Hazardous materials generally may not be transported through LuggageTribe unless LuggageTribe expressly creates a category permitting a specific type of material.
Examples of prohibited or restricted hazardous materials include:
- explosives;
- highly flammable liquids;
- flammable gases;
- compressed gases;
- toxic chemicals;
- corrosive substances;
- radioactive materials;
- infectious biological substances;
- industrial chemicals;
- certain fuels;
- dangerous pesticides;
- poisons;
- improperly contained chemicals; and
- other regulated hazardous materials.
Members must not attempt to bypass this restriction by placing hazardous materials inside ordinary packaging.
18. Fuel and Flammable Products
Members may not use LuggageTribe to transport containers of gasoline or similar highly flammable fuels.
Other flammable products may also be prohibited or restricted.
Items containing ordinary factory-installed fuel systems as part of a vehicle are outside the scope of Shipment Requests and do not make the vehicle itself a prohibited Journey.
19. Batteries
Certain batteries can present fire or transportation risks.
LuggageTribe may restrict:
- loose lithium-ion batteries;
- damaged batteries;
- swollen batteries;
- recalled batteries;
- improperly packaged batteries;
- large battery packs;
- electric-vehicle batteries;
- industrial batteries; and
- batteries whose condition is unknown.
Consumer electronics containing normally installed batteries may be permitted when properly packaged and otherwise eligible.
LuggageTribe may introduce additional battery restrictions depending on the transportation method.
20. Human Remains and Biological Materials
Members may not transport through LuggageTribe:
- human remains;
- human organs;
- human tissue;
- blood intended for medical use;
- biological specimens;
- infectious substances;
- diagnostic specimens requiring regulated transportation; or
- other regulated biological material,
unless LuggageTribe has expressly introduced an authorized specialized service permitting the material.
21. Live Animals
Live animals may not be transported as ordinary LuggageTribe shipments unless LuggageTribe expressly launches a service supporting animal transportation.
A member must never place an animal inside luggage, a closed shipping container, trunk, or other packaging intended for ordinary goods.
22. Plants, Wildlife and Protected Species
Transportation may be restricted for:
- protected wildlife;
- endangered species;
- unlawfully obtained animal products;
- invasive species;
- regulated plants;
- agricultural pests;
- illegally harvested wildlife products; and
- other items subject to environmental, agricultural, wildlife, or quarantine restrictions.
23. Perishable Foods
Ordinary food items may be permitted where lawful and appropriately packaged.
However, members should not accept items that:
- require temperature control that cannot be maintained;
- are likely to leak;
- may spoil during the Journey;
- present contamination risks;
- contain unidentified substances; or
- cannot be safely transported in the available vehicle.
LuggageTribe does not guarantee refrigeration, food safety, or temperature-controlled transportation unless a specific service expressly provides it.
24. Alcohol
Alcohol may be restricted or prohibited depending on applicable laws, the transaction, transportation method, member eligibility, and LuggageTribe policy.
Unless LuggageTribe expressly enables alcohol transportation for a transaction, members should treat alcohol as a prohibited shipment category.
25. Tobacco, Nicotine and Age-Restricted Products
Tobacco products, vaping products, nicotine products and other age-restricted items may not be transported through LuggageTribe unless the platform expressly permits the category and required legal controls are in place.
26. Cannabis and Marijuana Products
Cannabis, marijuana, THC products and similar controlled or regulated products may not be transported through LuggageTribe unless LuggageTribe expressly permits the particular category.
The fact that an item may be lawful within a particular state does not automatically make it eligible for transportation through LuggageTribe.
27. Cash and Cash Equivalents
LuggageTribe may prohibit or limit transportation of:
- large amounts of cash;
- negotiable bearer instruments;
- gift cards in unusually large quantities;
- money orders;
- blank checks;
- cryptocurrency hardware containing significant accessible value; and
- similar highly liquid instruments.
Members should not use LuggageTribe as a money-transfer service.
28. High-Value Items
High-value items may be subject to declared-value limits or additional restrictions.
Examples include:
- jewelry;
- precious metals;
- collectible coins;
- luxury watches;
- gemstones;
- rare collectibles;
- expensive artwork;
- high-value electronics; and
- other unusually valuable property.
LuggageTribe may establish maximum permitted declared values.
An item being accepted onto the marketplace does not mean LuggageTribe guarantees reimbursement for its full value if lost or damaged.
29. Personally Sensitive Documents
Members should exercise particular care before transporting:
- passports;
- immigration documents;
- Social Security cards;
- birth certificates;
- government identification;
- banking credentials;
- medical records;
- confidential legal records; and
- other documents capable of facilitating identity theft.
LuggageTribe may restrict some categories entirely.
Digital transmission or established secure document-delivery services may be more appropriate for certain sensitive documents.
30. Stolen, Counterfeit and Fraudulent Goods
Members may not use LuggageTribe to transport property they know or reasonably should know is:
- stolen;
- fraudulently obtained;
- purchased using stolen payment information;
- unlawfully counterfeit;
- subject to unlawful diversion; or
- connected to another fraudulent scheme.
A Transporting Member who becomes suspicious of an item's origin should not continue the transaction merely because payment has already been arranged.
31. Sexual or Exploitative Material
LuggageTribe prohibits shipment of unlawful sexually exploitative material, including child sexual abuse material and any other content whose possession or distribution is illegal.
Suspected child exploitation or other serious criminal activity may be reported to appropriate authorities as permitted or required by law.
32. Other Restricted Items
LuggageTribe may restrict additional items when transportation creates heightened:
- legal risk;
- safety risk;
- fraud risk;
- environmental risk;
- insurance risk;
- regulatory risk;
- reputational risk; or
- operational difficulty.
The prohibited-items list may therefore change over time.
33. When in Doubt, Do Not Carry It
Transporting Members should not accept a shipment when:
- the contents are unclear;
- the description does not match the item;
- packaging appears deliberately designed to conceal contents;
- the Requesting Member refuses reasonable questions;
- the shipment unexpectedly changes at pickup;
- the item has a strong unexplained chemical odor;
- the item appears to leak;
- the shipment appears dangerous;
- you are told not to ask what is inside;
- another person unexpectedly substitutes a different package;
- the member offers additional cash to ignore platform requirements;
- you believe the transaction may be unlawful; or
- the situation otherwise creates a reasonable safety concern.
Declining a suspicious shipment is preferable to transporting something you cannot reasonably identify.
34. Inspection and Verification at Pickup
Transporting Members have the right to confirm that the shipment presented at pickup is reasonably consistent with the Shipment Request.
This does not authorize unlawful searches or destructive inspection of another person's property.
Where appropriate, members should compare:
- shipment photographs;
- packaging;
- stated dimensions;
- approximate weight;
- quantity;
- description; and
- declared item category.
If there is a material discrepancy, the Transporting Member may refuse the shipment and report the issue.
35. Sealed Packages
LuggageTribe may establish rules concerning sealed packages.
A Requesting Member should never pressure a Transporting Member to carry a package while refusing to provide sufficient information about its contents.
Tamper-evident packaging may be used after the contents and condition have been appropriately documented.
36. Packaging Requirements
The Requesting Member is responsible for properly packaging the shipment unless another arrangement is expressly agreed.
Packaging should:
- protect the item from ordinary movement;
- avoid leakage;
- prevent sharp objects from protruding;
- protect fragile contents;
- be appropriately sized;
- remain closed during ordinary transportation;
- protect other property in the vehicle; and
- comply with any category-specific requirements.
LuggageTribe may reject or restrict improperly packaged shipments.
37. Transporting Members May Refuse Improper Packaging
A Transporting Member may refuse an item that:
- leaks;
- smells strongly of chemicals;
- contains exposed sharp objects;
- appears structurally unsafe;
- is inadequately sealed;
- could damage the vehicle;
- exceeds the stated size;
- exceeds the stated weight;
- requires specialized equipment not disclosed; or
- otherwise appears unsafe to transport.
38. Pickup Safety
Members should use reasonable precautions when meeting for pickup.
Where practical:
- choose a public or reasonably safe location;
- meet in a well-lit area;
- avoid unnecessarily isolated locations;
- keep transaction communications on LuggageTribe;
- verify that you are meeting the correct member;
- confirm the shipment through the platform;
- avoid handling large amounts of cash;
- tell another person where you are going when appropriate; and
- do not enter a stranger's home or vehicle merely because a transaction requires a handoff.
LuggageTribe may introduce designated or recommended handoff locations.
39. Identity at Handoff
LuggageTribe may provide mechanisms for members to confirm the identity of the other party.
Members should not hand over a shipment simply because someone claims to represent the account holder.
Where verification functionality is available, use it.
40. Pickup Codes
LuggageTribe may use:
- QR codes;
- PINs;
- one-time codes;
- in-app confirmation;
- photographs;
- digital signatures; or
- other methods
to verify pickup.
Members must not provide a pickup code before the shipment has actually been transferred where doing so would falsely indicate completion.
41. Safe Transportation
A Transporting Member is responsible for transporting an accepted shipment in a reasonably safe manner.
Items should be stored so that they do not:
- interfere with driving;
- block visibility;
- obstruct vehicle controls;
- create an unreasonable projectile hazard;
- exceed lawful vehicle capacity;
- obstruct emergency equipment; or
- otherwise make operation of the vehicle unsafe.
42. Never Use LuggageTribe While Driving Unsafely
Safety comes before platform activity.
Transporting Members must not:
- type messages while driving where unlawful or unsafe;
- photograph shipments while operating a moving vehicle;
- manipulate the app while driving in an unsafe manner;
- accept new Shipment Requests while distracted from driving; or
- follow app instructions where doing so would violate traffic laws or create a hazard.
Where necessary, pull over safely before interacting with the application.
43. Route Recommendations
LuggageTribe may provide estimated routes, distances, detours, pickup points, destination information, or navigation links.
These are informational tools.
Transporting Members remain responsible for choosing safe and lawful routes.
Road closures, weather, construction, emergencies, traffic conditions, incorrect map information, or other circumstances may make a suggested route unsuitable.
44. Vehicle Capacity
Transporting Members must provide reasonably accurate available-capacity information.
Do not accept shipments that would:
- overload the vehicle;
- exceed safe weight limits;
- materially obstruct visibility;
- prevent passengers from traveling safely;
- interfere with normal vehicle operation; or
- violate applicable vehicle requirements.
45. Recurring Journey Safety
When using recurring Journeys, Transporting Members remain responsible for ensuring that the capacity shown for each occurrence is genuinely available.
Automatic renewal of capacity does not override actual vehicle conditions.
If your circumstances change, update or pause your Journey.
46. Round Trips
Outbound and return capacity may differ.
Members must accurately specify available capacity for each direction where required.
Accepting a shipment on the outbound Journey does not automatically create an obligation to transport another shipment on the return Journey.
47. Chained and Multi-Segment Journeys
Where LuggageTribe supports connected Journey segments, each segment may have its own:
- capacity;
- route;
- timing;
- availability; and
- transaction status.
Members should verify the segment they are agreeing to perform.
LuggageTribe may apply additional safety or eligibility rules to multi-segment transportation.
48. No Unauthorized Transfer to Another Transporter
A Transporting Member must not hand an accepted shipment to an unrelated or unapproved person simply because doing so is more convenient.
If LuggageTribe eventually supports multi-member handoffs, those transfers must occur through the functionality and safeguards provided by LuggageTribe.
49. Do Not Leave Shipments Unattended Unnecessarily
Transporting Members should exercise reasonable care to prevent:
- theft;
- exposure to weather;
- unauthorized access;
- loss; and
- avoidable damage.
Never leave an item visibly exposed in an unattended vehicle where doing so creates an obvious theft risk.
50. Delivery Safety
Delivery should follow substantially the same safety principles as pickup.
Where practical:
- meet in an appropriate location;
- confirm the recipient;
- use LuggageTribe's delivery-verification tools;
- record the transaction status promptly; and
- do not leave the shipment unattended unless the transaction expressly permits unattended delivery.
51. Delivery Verification
LuggageTribe may require:
- delivery PIN;
- QR confirmation;
- recipient confirmation;
- photographs;
- in-app acknowledgement;
- electronic signature;
- timestamp;
- location confirmation; or
- another proof-of-delivery method.
Members must not intentionally falsify proof of delivery.
52. Never Mark an Undelivered Item as Delivered
A Transporting Member may not falsely claim that a shipment was delivered.
Similarly, a recipient may not falsely claim non-delivery after receiving an item.
Fraudulent delivery claims may result in suspension, termination, payment restrictions, recovery action, or referral to authorities where appropriate.
53. Failed Delivery
If delivery cannot be completed:
- do not abandon the shipment;
- attempt to contact the other member through LuggageTribe;
- follow any in-app failed-delivery instructions;
- document the situation where appropriate; and
- contact LuggageTribe support if assistance is required.
Do not independently dispose of another member's property unless specifically authorized or legally required.
54. Accidents
If you are involved in a vehicle accident while carrying a shipment:
Human safety comes first.
Attend to immediate safety and comply with applicable emergency and reporting requirements before dealing with the shipment or application.
Once it is safe to do so, inform LuggageTribe if an active shipment may have been affected.
LuggageTribe may request supporting information concerning the transaction.
55. Medical Emergencies
In a medical or other immediate emergency, contact the appropriate emergency services.
LuggageTribe support is not a substitute for police, fire, ambulance, or other emergency responders.
56. Suspected Dangerous Packages
If before taking possession you reasonably believe a shipment may contain explosives, hazardous chemicals, illegal drugs, weapons, or another dangerous item:
Do not accept it.
Move away from the situation if necessary and contact appropriate authorities where circumstances warrant.
If you discover a potentially dangerous item after transportation has begun, prioritize your immediate safety and follow lawful instructions from appropriate authorities.
Do not unnecessarily open, manipulate, smell, taste, test, dispose of, or attempt to neutralize a suspicious substance yourself.
57. Threats, Harassment and Violence
LuggageTribe has no tolerance for threatening or violent behavior.
Members may not:
- threaten another member;
- physically assault another member;
- stalk another member;
- intimidate another member;
- sexually harass another member;
- use hate-based abuse;
- coerce another person;
- intentionally damage another member's property; or
- use LuggageTribe to facilitate violence.
Serious incidents may result in immediate account restriction and may be referred to appropriate authorities.
58. Discrimination
Members must not unlawfully discriminate against others based on protected characteristics.
Members remain free to reject a transaction for legitimate safety, capacity, route, timing, item, or marketplace reasons.
59. Sexual Misconduct
Sexual harassment, unwanted sexual contact, sexual coercion, indecent exposure, or using a LuggageTribe transaction as a pretext for sexual activity is prohibited.
A marketplace transaction is not consent to any personal or sexual interaction.
60. Privacy at Pickup and Delivery
Members should use personal information learned through a transaction only for legitimate transaction-related purposes.
You may not:
- stalk another member;
- save someone's address for unrelated purposes;
- publish another member's private information;
- contact someone repeatedly after the transaction for unwanted purposes;
- sell another member's personal information; or
- misuse location information.
61. Keep Communication on LuggageTribe
Where LuggageTribe provides in-app messaging, members are strongly encouraged to communicate through it.
Platform communications may help establish a record if there is a:
- dispute;
- cancellation;
- safety incident;
- delivery issue; or
- suspected fraud.
62. Off-Platform Transactions
Do not ask another member to move a confirmed or prospective LuggageTribe transaction outside the platform primarily to:
- avoid fees;
- bypass verification;
- bypass prohibited-item controls;
- avoid payment protections;
- avoid transaction records;
- evade account restrictions; or
- circumvent LuggageTribe's safety rules.
A member offering additional cash in exchange for avoiding LuggageTribe safeguards should be treated cautiously.
63. Cash Payments
Where LuggageTribe provides digital payment functionality, members should use approved payment mechanisms.
Members should not be pressured into unrecorded cash transactions.
A cash offer does not justify ignoring an item declaration, verification requirement, prohibited-items rule, or other safety requirement.
64. Fraud Prevention
Examples of prohibited fraudulent activity include:
- fake Shipment Requests;
- fake Journeys;
- fabricated delivery claims;
- stolen payment instruments;
- account takeover;
- chargeback abuse;
- identity fraud;
- manipulated photographs;
- fake verification documents;
- collusive transactions;
- intentionally false damage claims;
- referral abuse;
- credit abuse; and
- manipulating LuggageTribe's marketplace or payment systems.
65. Marketplace Credits and Incentives
LuggageTribe may offer:
- credits;
- referral rewards;
- discounts;
- promotional balances;
- incentives; or
- other benefits.
Members may not create fake transactions, duplicate accounts, collude with other members, or otherwise manipulate marketplace activity to obtain incentives.
LuggageTribe may revoke improperly obtained credits or rewards.
66. Ratings and Reviews
Members should provide truthful feedback based on actual transactions.
You may not:
- threaten a negative rating to obtain money;
- offer payment for a positive review;
- submit a review for a transaction that did not occur;
- retaliate through reviews;
- publish another member's sensitive personal information; or
- manipulate the rating system.
67. Safety Reports
Members may report concerns involving:
- prohibited items;
- fraud;
- threats;
- harassment;
- suspected illegal activity;
- identity misuse;
- unsafe packaging;
- theft;
- damage;
- loss;
- suspicious transactions;
- impersonation;
- account compromise; or
- other violations.
Reports should be made through LuggageTribe's available support or reporting functionality.
68. Information LuggageTribe May Request
When investigating a report, LuggageTribe may request:
- transaction number;
- photographs;
- shipment description;
- communications;
- pickup information;
- delivery information;
- receipts;
- proof of value;
- identification;
- screenshots;
- vehicle or Journey information;
- police or incident reports where applicable; and
- other reasonably relevant evidence.
Members should provide truthful information during investigations.
69. Emergency Disclosure
LuggageTribe may disclose information to law enforcement, emergency services, regulators, or other appropriate parties where permitted or required by law, including circumstances involving credible threats to safety, suspected serious criminal activity, or valid legal requests.
70. Cooperation With Authorities
LuggageTribe may respond to valid legal processes and cooperate with lawful investigations.
The platform may preserve transaction or account information when legally required or reasonably necessary to address fraud, litigation, safety incidents, or legal claims.
71. Law-Enforcement Requests
Requests for LuggageTribe member or transaction information from law-enforcement authorities should follow LuggageTribe's applicable legal-request procedures.
LuggageTribe will review requests in accordance with applicable law.
72. What Happens After a Safety Report?
Depending on the circumstances, LuggageTribe may:
- request additional information;
- review transaction records;
- review platform communications;
- examine verification information;
- temporarily restrict a listing;
- temporarily restrict a transaction;
- restrict payments where legally and contractually permitted;
- suspend transportation privileges;
- suspend an account;
- remove a listing;
- warn a member;
- require additional verification;
- permanently remove a member;
- preserve records; or
- refer serious matters to appropriate authorities.
The action taken will depend on the nature, credibility, seriousness, and available evidence concerning the report.
73. Immediate Restrictions
LuggageTribe may restrict an account while investigating circumstances involving potential:
- violence;
- threats;
- child exploitation;
- serious fraud;
- prohibited weapons;
- illegal drugs;
- hazardous substances;
- identity theft;
- account takeover;
- theft of shipments;
- repeated false delivery claims; or
- other significant safety concerns.
A temporary restriction does not necessarily mean LuggageTribe has concluded that misconduct occurred.
74. Enforcement
Violations of this Policy may result in one or more of the following:
- education or warning;
- removal of content;
- removal of a Shipment Request;
- removal of a Journey;
- cancellation of a match;
- restriction of marketplace functionality;
- additional identity verification;
- suspension of transportation approval;
- payment action permitted by applicable payment terms;
- temporary account suspension;
- permanent account termination; or
- reporting to appropriate authorities where warranted.
75. Serious or Repeated Violations
LuggageTribe may permanently remove a member for a single sufficiently serious violation.
Repeated lower-level violations may also result in removal.
Members may not create another account to avoid enforcement action.
76. Appeals
Where LuggageTribe provides an appeal process, members may request review of eligible enforcement decisions.
Submitting an appeal does not automatically reverse the original decision.
LuggageTribe may request additional evidence before reviewing an appeal.
77. Loss and Damage
Members should document the condition of higher-risk shipments at pickup and delivery.
If an item is lost or damaged:
- report the incident promptly;
- provide the transaction information;
- provide relevant photographs;
- retain relevant packaging;
- provide proof of value where requested; and
- cooperate with any reasonable investigation.
78. No Automatic Insurance
Use of LuggageTribe does not automatically mean that every shipment is insured for its full declared value.
Where LuggageTribe offers a shipment-protection, reimbursement, guarantee, or insurance program, that program will be governed by its separate terms.
Members should review available protection before confirming a transaction.
79. Declared Value
A declared value helps LuggageTribe and members understand the approximate value associated with a shipment.
Declaring a value does not, by itself:
- create insurance;
- guarantee reimbursement;
- establish conclusively what an item is worth; or
- obligate LuggageTribe to pay that amount if the item is lost or damaged.
LuggageTribe may establish maximum declared-value limits.
80. Personal Automobile Insurance
LuggageTribe does not automatically provide automobile insurance to Transporting Members merely because they use the platform.
Transporting Members are responsible for maintaining legally required insurance applicable to their vehicle and circumstances.
Members should independently determine whether their insurance provides appropriate coverage for the activities they undertake.
81. Commercial or Regulatory Requirements
Certain transportation activities may be subject to federal, state, local, licensing, insurance, tax, commercial-transportation, hazardous-material, or other requirements.
Members are responsible for complying with laws that apply to them.
LuggageTribe may restrict particular transactions even where a member believes the activity could otherwise be lawfully performed.
82. Businesses Using LuggageTribe
If LuggageTribe permits businesses to use the marketplace, business accounts remain subject to this Policy.
Higher-volume or commercial activity may be subject to:
- additional verification;
- different transaction limits;
- documentation requirements;
- insurance requirements;
- specialized agreements;

Additional rules may apply to specific shipment categories or services.
94. Contacting LuggageTribe
Members should use the safety, reporting, support, or contact functionality provided through LuggageTribe to report non-emergency issues.
For an immediate threat to life or physical safety, contact the appropriate emergency authorities first.
LuggageTribe customer support is not an emergency-response service.
95. The LuggageTribe Safety Standard
Every LuggageTribe member should be able to answer three basic questions before a shipment begins:
Who am I dealing with?
What am I carrying?
Is this transaction documented through LuggageTribe?
If something does not look right, do not ignore it simply to complete a transaction.
Our community works when members accurately describe their items, accurately declare their available capacity, respect one another, follow the law, keep transactions transparent, and put safety ahead of convenience.
Know the member. Know the item. Keep it on LuggageTribe.
Everyday Routes. Extraordinary Possibilities.
